“Eastbound and Down”

“Loaded up and a truckin’, we’re gonna do what they say can’t be done.” A song by Jerry Reed, made famous in the soundtrack of the 1977 movie “Smokey and the Bandit”. An iconic film with defiance as its theme.

This catchy tune is making a big comeback as the Canadian Convey is rolling its way across Canada. A massive gathering of big rigs, peacefully converging on the City of Ottawa to protest and request abolishment of Covid mandates. Peacefully, with no reports of disruptive actions, but with determination. These hard-working Canadians, who bring the goods needed to stock store shelves, are standing up to their government and demanding that they be allowed to freely move about. They are not against the jabs, just the mandates that require them, along with a “medical passport” and unnecessary quarantines. They believe in and represent the freedom of choice.

I have a lot of respect for people that can roll thousands of pounds of steel down a highway. Who can back up 65 feet of truck into a skinny alleyway. Who can spend days on the road, mostly alone, just to transport fresh food for us to enjoy. These people are necessary to our survival and should not be hampered by unnecessary rules. Think of the money, not to mention – rotted food, that is being wasted. You know those beautiful raspberries that turn moldy an hour after you bought them? Probably got held up at the border because someone breathed on another human.

Your personal opinion regarding Covid and the jabs, is just that: personal. A mandate of anything related to that takes away your personal choice. Medicine began with the oath of “do no harm” and patient autonomy. Your health, and that of your minor children, is your decision. For a long time, people have been making the choice to opt out of potentially life-saving treatments due to personal choice. What if you had cancer, but were unwilling to have surgery because the risk was too great – but the doctor told you it was mandatory, did the surgery anyway, and you died? Oh, the shit would hit the fan. There’s a reason why medical treatment is a choice. So why is This suddenly different? Did we all get dumb all of a sudden? Are we too stupid to know what’s good for us?

If you are okay with allowing someone else to tell you what you HAVE to do with-or-to your body, what’s next? Maybe MREs to eat, because the trucks are no longer allowed to deliver fresh food. You think I’m joking or crazy, but you ever eaten one of those things? Freeze-dried goulash and cardboard bread. You’d be happy to eat a half-moldy raspberry after that.

This convoy isn’t a bunch of half-crazy addicts about to mow down the country with thousands of pounds of steel. They are driving on behalf of you and your ability to get fresh, nutritious food (and other goods) quickly and easily. They are people trying to make a living and feed their families, just like you. They don’t care whether you get jabbed or not, only that you – and they – can choose. Because without choice, we are nothing. God gave us Free Will when we were placed upon the Earth. Do you really want to disappoint God?

P.S.: remember, there was a follow-up song “West Bound and Down”. Success in Ottawa might send those big rigs in another direction.

Calling All Lightworkers

It’s been a rough couple of years. You may have thought you were a Lightworker and on the path. And then this shitstorm showed up and you’re not really sure if you even are a Lightworker. You’ve been pulled down and pulled off your path. You may have lost jobs and friends and live in a house divided. You sneeze and someone acts like you have the plague. What you thought you believed in now sounds like a fairy tale. You wonder if Satan has taken over the Earth. That pure Divine connection to God seems like a thin trickle. And your Spirit Guides? Where did they go?

All is not lost. Don’t give up and, for sure, don’t give in.

Maybe you spent a lot of time clearing up your baggage. Maybe you feel like you’ve passed your Spiritual Initiations. (They never stop, by the way. No Master ever gets a free pass.) And now it’s all gone to shit.

But it hasn’t. . .

Remember when you learned to drive a car and the day came when you got to make a solo trip? Well, this is it, kids, the Solo Drive for Lightworkers. Your Spirit Guides didn’t leave you, they LAUNCHED you. You are now one badass Lightworker and you got this. Yes, seriously. All the work, all the praying and meditation, all the study and learning, is within you. You know how to connect, you know how to clear your energy, you know how to “read” people’s energy, so your Guides don’t have to be taking care of you every minute – not that they mind and they’re still there when you need them.

And now they are asking you to take the next step on your spiritual journey: stepping into Service. It’s time to shine your light even brighter to help other Souls get onto the spiritual path. Their path, not yours. Remind them that they are a Divine Child of God, a Sovereign Soul filled with Divine Love, and capable of creating a joyful, abundant life. Maybe it is in your path to help someone create a wonderous thing that benefits many and costs nothing. Maybe you bring beauty to the world, or nurture others with healthful food. Whatever it is, ask your Guides to put you on the path of Service.

But remember, that even when you drive solo, you are never alone.

Save Jesus – An Allegory of Belief

Yes, you read that correctly. I’m going to take a “leap of faith” into the subject of beliefs, namely the spiritual variety. Starting with the definition of Belief according to- thefreedictionary.com:

  1. The mental act, condition, or habit of placing trust or confidence in another: “My belief in you is as strong as ever.”
  2. Mental acceptance of and conviction in the truth, actuality, or validity of something: “His explanation of what happened defies belief.”
  3. Something believed or accepted as true, especially a particular tenet or a body of tenets accepted by a group of persons.

Belief systems and their origins can be a complicated and controversial subject and take one down vast roads and rabbit holes. They can be learned but are often something felt within. Beliefs are and should be an entirely personal choice. Throughout my years of research and study of spiritual subjects, I have decided that there are five types of spiritual belief systems:

  • Those who claim they don’t believe in God but admit that there is some energy source that created the universe and all of us. They are likely the people who will yelp “God save me!” when shit hits the fan.
  • The fear-based group who think that anyone who isn’t part of their group should be squashed like a bug.
  • The devout Christians who constantly state “Jesus is our King and Savior”, “Jesus saved me”, and try to convince you to join their church as they look down their nose at you.
  • The extreme spiritual types who drape crystals on every part of their body and think they can manifest soap out of thin air.
  • And then, the remainder who might be in the fringes of those groups and simply walk quietly in their faith. They talk to God frequently and believe there was a Jesus. They might have crystals on their windowsills and meditate on the Solstice. They still buy soap at the grocery store.

There is nothing wrong nor right to any of these groups. The snarky comments are mine alone. A belief in something or someone is based upon an individual’s energetic frequency level, and their heart-based feeling. But the basis of belief is in a Higher Being, Source Energy, a Creator of All, regardless of the name placed upon it. We came into being somehow, even if some are convinced that we originated from an ape. (So how did the ape get here, might I ask?)

To throw in the mix is another category, what I like to call the “Mean People”. They don’t believe in God, much less Jesus. They believe in Other Things. They hate humans. They worship power and money and like to take both from you. You can tell who they are by looking in their eyes – dead, flat, no soul shining within. Some have cobra eyes, that dead stare that sucks you in right before they bite you. Yes, creepy as fuck.

But getting back to Jesus. . .

I believe that God created each one of us, through a Divine Spark placed within a human body. Our purpose was to explore life in physical form in order to grow our spirit, which grows God, and to give and receive love. We were conveyed the Divine Right to joy, love, prosperity, abundance, and freedom. However, we agreed to forget our conscious connection to God to achieve this growth without the knowledge of perfection. But as we matured spiritually, we would remember and re-ignite the desire to know God within our soul.

Well, that went reasonably well for quite some time, but the Mean People multiplied too. They figured out how they could manipulate the humans through fear and then it got out of hand. Drunken orgies and that kind of thing. They came up with devious methods to take power and money away from the humans. The people became tired and unhappy. God got angry but determined that it wouldn’t be beneficial to wipe out Earth and start over. Waste of resources and all that. So, God created Jesus. A pure, Divine Spark in a human body, but with full remembrance of the God-connection. Someone who could talk to the humans and remind them just Who it was that put them here. A “come to Jesus” sort of meeting. (I couldn’t help using that reference.)

So, there He was, talking with anyone who would listen, reminding them that they were of God and could-and should- be living a joyful, loving, abundant life. I envision Jesus as an awesome big brother. The brother who would take you camping in the woods, roast you a perfect marshmallow, and scare you shitless with the worst ghost story imaginable. Then when you woke in the early hours, terrified, he’d be in his sleeping bag between you and the tent opening with a club by his side. Snoring peacefully. The brother who would toss you in a pond, then teach you how to swim. Or sit with you in the backyard, patiently explaining to you how a dandelion is not much different from a human: you can choose to see a weed, or you can choose to see a flower, but God made both, so both are perfection and can renew themselves endlessly.

I believe he was married and raised children (his time of death could have been mis-reported; it’s a common theme), because how could he counsel such things without direct knowledge? In short, I believe Jesus was a teacher, who was sent here to help us remember that God lives within each of us and that we are capable of creating a life of our dreams. A life of freedom to explore and learn. A life of joy, with meaningful activities that create beautiful things and provide what we need. (He was a carpenter.) To teach us that abundance is having everything that we need and enjoy (and not just to impress the neighbors). All that crap about poverty being a virtue was made up by the Mean People so they could take more of your things.

But all the while he was busy building cabinets and telling us to talk to God every day, the Mean People were grilling their minions about this new guy in town. They threatened them by withholding food, by taking their money, by putting them in house arrest, and to some, death. Jesus was a direct threat to the existence of the Mean People, but he just got louder. They didn’t much like that. And you know how all that turned out. Do you get why I call them “Mean People”?

So, this narrative of “Jesus died for our sins”, well, I don’t think you really understand the whole story. He died because very few people stood up for him. The rest of the sorry-ass population were so scared of the Mean People – even though they outnumbered them a thousand to one – that they rolled over and gave him up. So, what if the Mean People had all the money, power and maybe weapons? Many a time in later history an army of peasants with pitchforks and brooms took out a group of soldiers to regain their freedom. One wonders why that didn’t happen in Jesus’ time.

And then there is this “Second Coming” deal. Yes, it will probably happen, but not until we current crop of humans get off our lazy-asses and do some saving of our own. Really, if you were He, would you be all excited to come back? Probably not. The Mean People beat the fuck out of Him the first time; and now, they’ve got worse weapons. If you want the Second Coming to hurry up and get here, and to be saved by Jesus, then you better get busy to save Him.

Take a good look at your life. Do you whine and complain that nothing works for you? Is your body a mess? Do you have difficult relationships? What about that job – does it make you crabby, but you make good money? Get busy and clean up your act. Save yourself first. Dig down deep and find the love within you. Remind yourself that you are a Divine Child of God. Remember that God’s decree is that you live joyfully, abundantly, and lovingly. You have the right to freedom and prosperity. Pure health is a gift. Own your power and stand strong in your beliefs. Become the person that Jesus saved. Only then will the Mean People go away. Remember that 1,000 years of peace we were promised? How ‘bout we make that forever?

Just imagine what antics your Big Brother Jesus has planned for you when peace is restored. I’m sharpening my marshmallow stick. How about you?

Happy 2022 – The Year of YOU

Forget the “I’m gonna do ___” resolution nonsense. It does nothing but provide you with an endless loop of procrastination, and things to blame. It is time to walk the life you only talk about. Go into your Heart Center and figure out what that means. How do you want to live? What are you passionate about? What do you enjoy? What steps do you need to take to live as the person you want to be?

Well, so-and-so says. . .. Do they live your life or do you? There is nothing wrong with doing research on something that interests you, and maybe a method of learning how to do it. But ultimately it needs to feel good and right for you, and not just because someone else says so.

We have been living in a time where many so-called experts tell us how, what and when to do something, regardless if it is a good thing or not. THEY ARE NOT YOU. You get to decide what you do. (Note: I’m not talking about criminal actions or being an asshole. Good thoughts, good things only, People.) And how about those of you who are too lazy to take charge of your life and constantly say someone or something is going to “save” you. How’s that working for you? No one is going to save you. I know I’m being a hard-ass, but I get really tired of listening to people who give their power away instead of taking responsibility for themselves. Get off your dead ass and do something for yourself! Say NO to things you don’t want, and YES to things that stir your heart.

Remember, we are each a Child of God. We were created as humans, but with a Divine Spark within us so that we remember WHO WE ARE. Put a torch to that Divine Spark, get off your lazy ass and build yourself a life of meaningful activities that bring you abundance, prosperity and contentment. Create it! Honor your incredible human body, use your amazing complex thought process, love yourself with intensity, and listen to the Divine Guidance within your soul.

Now if that’s not the best way to start the year, I don’t know what is.

Don’t Kill Spiders

What?! Aaak!! I read a cartoon this morning that went something like this: That spider you just killed probably thought of you as a roommate. Did you know that? No, you respond. See, you only ever think about yourself.

That cartoon speaks to me in many ways. First, I have a fear of spiders. I know they are necessary for eating bugs, but I don’t want them inside my home. Cleanliness helps to eliminate bugs, along with dirt and debris that can draw in other pests like mice and rats. So the spiders gotta go.

It also speaks to me of my belief in “Do No Harm”. That could mean don’t kill the spider in spite of the fact that they eat bugs. I can also equate this to the current mood of many people telling YOU that you MUST do this “thing” in order to protect THEM. Isn’t that like giving spiders free run of your home? Aren’t these people causing YOU harm by not allowing you the ability to care for yourself – or in this case – preventing your home from being invaded by other more troublesome critters? And, by you not killing those spiders, how is that going to protect these other people? They don’t live in your home!

So, if you decide to agree to someone’s demand that you do something to protect them, or allow your home to be overrun by spiders, you might want to take a peek at their behind and see if a twitching little tail is attached. Rats and mice do not care about your wellbeing, and will completely take over if you let them.

Rainbows and Unicorns

I’ve written rather sporadically on my blog this past year. It was a time of going deep within to connect more spiritually, find my inner truth – much of that connected to research and investigation of external events, and generally determine what I wanted my life to look like since I retired from the work world. Obviously, it included a big change in moving from the Mile-Hi City of Denver to the desert valley of Phoenix. When you listen to your guidance, good things follow. And they have.

I’m feeling that guidance encourage me to write more often, mostly to channel that guidance into messages to be shared. I also have some new followers, so I’d like to introduce them to who I am and what I’m about. I’m a Spiritual Being living in a Human Body, just like everyone else. At a young age, I realized that not everything was as it appeared to be, beginning with religion. I began to question many things. I love to read, and worked at the public library as a teen. For a small library, it was quite diverse and I considered nothing off limits, including those “health” books hidden in the back room. Some things are important to investigate. Through the years, my research topics included metaphysics, religion, philosophy, physical health, self-help, mental and emotional health, and recently, current events. I soaked up information like a sponge, yet always knew something was missing.

I experienced many external events that made me believe I was flawed, or something was wrong with me. Little did I understand that these were karmic choices intended to grow my spirit and lead me back to Spirit. I learned about energetic healing and experienced some too. I learned about Dark energies and how to deal with them. That got a little too heavy, so it was happy spirituality for awhile. Rainbows and Unicorns. Now there is nothing wrong with rainbows and unicorns, and we could seriously use some of that energy, but in present times that gets you thrown in the Nut category. (However, fruits and nuts are good for you.) Whether you are new to my writing, or have followed me for some time, I swear. A LOT. Harsh times call for Harsh words, and get people’s attention. My Spirit Guides encourage the four-letter words, because They want Prime Creator’s messages to come through.

And the message is this: connect directly with Prime Creator (God/Universe/Spirit – you choose the name) and fill yourself continuously with Divine Light. Listen to the guidance that comes to you. So how do you know it’s not evil in disguise? By how you feel. Bad vibes make you feel sick in your gut; Good vibes make your heart swell. That guidance will encourage you in the direction or action steps that will make your life better. The goal here is to feel good: spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. Too often we feel bad, because we do what others tell us to do, instead of relying upon our internal guidance – the Spirit-connected guidance, that is. Everything else follows. This is what will get you through these harsh times.

You are in charge of you. No one can tell you what you need. No one can rescue you from external events, unless it’s truly life or death. No one gets to decide how you live. No one determines your health or your beliefs. Only you and Spirit. If you are afraid or feel unsafe, connect. If you need something, connect. This connection is the key to changing external events. If everyone on Earth found their way back to their Divine Self, the evil would simply shrivel up and die. Isn’t that a great picture?

Maybe we’ll even see Rainbows and Unicorns again. Even if it’s just a drawing on your refrigerator.

Fill-er Up!

Remember the days of full-service gas stations? The attendant would come out and put gas in your car, clean the windows, check the oil and put air in your tires. Sigh. Would that those services come back, although if you ask nicely, the guys at the tire shops will air up your tires. But a full tank of gas is a blessing indeed.

Your inner fuel tank also needs to be kept full, and I don’t mean your tummy. Your essence, your Inner Light, is your most important fuel tank. It keeps you going when times are tough. It brings inspiration when you are problem-solving. It brings peace when you are stressed. And now more than ever do we need to keep that tank filled up.

We are living in trying times (well, that’s an understatement, Lorrie). Yes, but I’d rather not go into detail about those “trying” times, as they can be controversial and most of you know what they are. Everyone has their own viewpoint, and version of the truth, but the reality is that things are heating up. It’s quite likely that more of those “trying” topics will be revealed, so filling your inner tank is kind of like stocking up on toilet paper. You never know how much shit will come out. The thing is, if you aren’t internally prepared, you may experience a level of disbelief, outrage, depression or other intense emotions that you will find difficult to process. There may be some intense jubilation, but what happens when the party has run out of confetti? How will you feel inside? Good? Ready to help out? Or will you feel completely fucking empty?

Many years ago, I went through intensive energy healing sessions. I later took classes on how to do the same work. Energy healing very often involves clearing your emotional layer of devastating external events that you never processed at the time they occurred. If the emotional reaction is not released through physical action: shaking, crying, screaming, then the energy can stay in your physical body and create illness. The process of clearing can take some time if you have experienced similar subsequent events. You might have internal dialogues with the people involved, which can clear them too, even though they won’t know it. Your energetic body (the aura) may also need some repair. A good energy healer can help remove blocks, implants and repair tears in your aura. They may even need to perform soul retrieval, as sometimes a portion of your soul will pull away if the trauma was severe.

Once your energetic body has been cleared of old trauma, you will feel lighter, maybe even joyous. You’ll think “great, I’m done, I can go”. Wait up there, Buttercup, you don’t want the swamp to rear its ugly head again. The most important aspect of healing is filling up your inner tank with pure Divine Light. You see, if you don’t fill up the empty holes left from the clearing, something will find its way back in, and it might not be what you want. Invoke The Violet Flame and allow it to pour into you with the intention that you are Whole, Complete, Healthy, Loved and Divine. This will keep you centered and peaceful when the shit hits the fan in the outside world.

The World Stage is presently a battle of Good vs Evil. Oh, it might play out as politics, economy, health, or specific names and faces, but it’s still ultimately the time when Spirit is reclaiming the Earth. We’ve lost our way, and act like throwing out all our stuff is how we’ll feel better. Sure, if you know that stuff was bad for you, but what if you thought it was good and you find out it wasn’t? Like a perfect red apple, that cut open, has a rotten core. If you place all of your happiness on the achievement or release of something external, where does that leave you?

Basically, empty and probably fucking hopeless. Time to fill-er up.

External events are lessons, tests and initiations to bring you back to the God-spark within you. They don’t define you; they teach you to remember. Go within. Fill yourself with Divine Light. Remember who you are: a beautiful, loving spiritual being experiencing learning events in a physical body. When you do that, you will fear no evil. You’ll see the truth in all situations and you’ll live your life with joy and abundance.

And you might want to wash that windshield so you can see everything clearly.

Find Your Inner Light

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. We’re getting settled in, here in the desert and beginning to create a new way of life. There are many seasons to our lives, and it’s important to determine what you would like to grow. Me, I’ve spent my whole life toiling away to the calling of someone else’s schedule and desires. That isn’t necessarily bad, as I’ve gained compensation for that toil that has allowed me to make this life change. So I’m grateful for all that has brought me here.

This season, I’m learning how to play and enjoy what life has to offer. In spite of the turmoil of the outer world, my Inner Light is carefully cultivated to shine ever brighter. This is the most important task during these tumultuous days. First and always, connect to Spirit/God/Divine Creator/whatever Higher name you choose. Allow that energy to constantly flow into your Heart Center. If you are choosing to stay updated on current events, always bring that information into your Heart Center for Divine Discernment. Your Truth is YOUR Truth and no one else’s. Agree to disagree with others and don’t let opposing views destroy lifelong relationships, providing they are not harmful. We desperately need more of Spirit’s messages and less of human opinions in order to live our best life. Remember that you are a Divine Sovereign Soul encased in a human body; created by Spirit and placed upon the Earth to experience life. You are neither master nor slave; you are not greater or less than anyone else; just a beautiful creation learning lessons and allowing the love and light within you to grow and expand.

Take good care of your human form. It belongs to you and no one else. It was created by Spirit and filled with immense, miraculous capabilities. Listen to your inner messages of how to care for yourself. Nurture your Soul by connecting with Spirit every day. All the guidance you need comes into you directly from Spirit. You may get information from human sources, but let Spirit guide you to what is appropriate for your path. If you are troubled, fill and surround yourself with pure Divine Light.

You are on the path to the Awakening of your true Soul. Find your Inner Light and hold it bright and steady.

Re-Vital-Isation

Hello Friends,

It’s been awhile since I’ve actually written a blog article. Another strange year, to be sure, and I did spend some time writing and publishing my new book Dealing With Sh*t: Becoming Your Badass Self: Fry, Lorrie K: 9798746815446: Amazon.com: Books I’d be much obliged if you purchased a copy. If you like my brand of writing style, I have no doubt you will enjoy the newest in my line of “Sh*t” books. (not about poop, in case you were wondering)

Anyway, I have been quite busy. The Colorado winter was long and cold this year. In March, we had an enormous amount of snow. When you are retired, you naturally spend more time at home. Now, I don’t mind this, being a homebody, but I do like to get out and walk. Not bloody likely with 2 feet of snow and more coming. So we traded snowballs for cactus.

Colorado in March
Arizona in June

I had been feeling anxious and restless throughout the early months of the year. You could blame it on the snow and cold, or blame it on the viral insanity. I suppose those things are true, but it was more than that. I felt an urgency to leave Colorado. My lovely, beautiful, 5-year-old home in a great neighborhood with food and drink and shopping all within a 5 minute walk began to feel like a prison. I was constantly on edge with keeping up with maintenance, not that it needed it, but you have to keep things up to avoid bigger issues later on. My Sweetie was usually off working on a project, so I took care of things. I had plenty of entertainment at home, as well as an infinite amount of information to be found online. But something felt “off”. I longed for some fun. I longed for less responsibilities. I longed for warm weather. There is nothing quite as nice as a swimming pool, beach, patio, bistro or afternoon cocktail in the sunshine, providing it’s not too hot. We have friends that were already living in Arizona. We had made several visits in the past few years, but I wasn’t that excited about it at the time. Still in my stress-filled work coma and couldn’t appreciate the good points. But suddenly, it seemed the place to go.

In April, we took a road trip to Phoenix to see if we wanted to relocate. We took a few days and drove around, and decided that the Sun City/Sun City West area was the place to be. Plenty of things to do, shop, eat, drink and be merry – or my newfound slogan “getting jiggy in the desert with the old people”. We did some digging into the real estate, and a couple weeks later my Sweetie flew down for a couple of tours. He picked the house I hoped for, on a golf course with a beautiful view from 2 sides of the home. He made an offer and it was accepted. Then began the real work. If you have ever moved, you know that it is a great deal of work, stress, time and money. Thankfully, we were both retired and had the luxury of time. Add to that, the listing and selling of our then-current home. People traipsing through trying to get a good view of the home, but with moving boxes stacked everywhere. But it happened, and it afforded us the home, the move and a renewal of our new home.

We went from a 5 year-old home to one built in 1973. Very interesting. Now, I love mid-century modern so this was just right. A three-story home to a ranch, which is wonderful, to say the least. The prior owner had maintained the home quite well, and it has some very cool characteristics, which we are preserving. If you want to know anything about these homes, look up Del Webb and Sun City. Loads of storage, big windows and patio doors open to the outside – and get this – big clothes closets. Yes, really. Although, it was a little short on space for my shoes, but most places are short on space for my shoes. I believe I’ve written about them before.

It began as a beige box. Beige walls, ceiling, trim and carpet. We ripped out the carpet and installed laminate flooring. We painted everything white, except for accent walls in this happy yellow color, incidentally called “Smiley Face”. (The original Smiley Face was created in 1963 – a true mid-century modern icon.) It kind of makes me feel like I’m at a beach; my favorite place in the world. Talk about re-VITAL-isation.

Still a little unpacking and work to be done – waiting on library bookshelves

My anxiety and restlessness came from a serious need to release a lot of my responsibilities and learn to play and have fun. I wasn’t really having that in my Colorado life. Colorado is a beautiful state, and Denver is very vibrant, but it is all primarily oriented towards the outdoor life. Nothing wrong with that, I had done plenty of outdoorsy things. But, when you are older, you just aren’t feeling the need to pitch a tent, load/unload a camper, hike or any of that stuff. Not that older people CAN’T, but I and my Sweetie were true urbanites. If you know anything about Sun City/Sun City West, then you know it was designed for the over-55 crowd. I have seen more 80-somethings, who are healthy and active, in the 6 weeks I’ve been here than I ever have before. If you get bored here, you are probably dead. There are 8 rec centers, and probably as many golf courses (I’m not a golfer) in this city, with plenty to do at each. I’m loving the walking pool. Like a water-filled rat maze and you walk in a current. Great exercise in 100+ degree temps. And then there is Bell Road. If you can’t find a place to shop, eat, drink, get services of any kind, then you just haven’t left your house.

Have I said yet that I love it here? Let me count the ways. I feel as though I am beginning to blossom and really enjoy life. Sure, we’ve been very busy and tired from working on the house, but that is short-lived and will soon be done. And then it’s “party on, dudes”. I think it’s about time for an afternoon cocktail.
