I saw that on a t-shirt. If you are or know the person who created that, please respond. I’d like to give you credit and thank you for it.
FUCK. These days it seems to be the most used word in the dictionary. Most every language understands it. It has been used as a noun, verb, adjective, adverb, pronoun and a name. Some people are capable of using it in every form in a single sentence.
It’s a silly word, really.
Why do people swear? I don’t know exactly, but can think of many reasons why. 1) Anger; 2) pain; 3) humor; 4) for emphasis; and 5) just because they can. I’m sure I’ve done it for all those reasons. However, when I am writing, I do it to get people’s attention. I write about things with the intention to help and to teach, so I want people to pay attention. Most people like to cuss so if you want to get their attention, play to their likes.
Yes, I write about spiritual issues and you might wonder how swear words relate to this. I think many people live their lives with some level of emotional pain. Swearing might be a way to release this pain. I read a quote by Native American author, Vine Deloria Jr, “Religion is for people who’re afraid of going to hell. Spirituality is for those who’ve already been there.” Some people also say that Hell is really our human life on Earth. Hell is considered a swear word too.
It’s very easy to get stuck in a hell of your own creation. We have to consistently practice positive thinking and allowing that there are always better options to the life we are living. Swear if you feel the need, but it ought to be “I am so f*cking happy!”
